Press release

Traunstein, 08.01.2025

MaxSolar GmbH from Traunstein is taking a decisive step towards a sustainable heat supply together with the municipality of Herrsching am Ammersee. The company is starting the municipal heat planning for the community in order to develop a sustainable and climate-friendly heat supply for the coming years.

In December, discussions and planning continued at the Herrsching municipal building office. Prior to this, a kick-off meeting was held between the municipal representatives and MaxSolar GmbH at the end of October to discuss cooperation on municipal heating planning. The aim is to achieve climate neutrality in Herrsching by 2035.

“We are delighted to be working together with MaxSolar GmbH on a sustainable concept for Herrsching's heat supply. Heat planning is an important building block on the road to climate neutrality. We are relying on MaxSolar's expertise to cover our municipality's heating requirements as efficiently and sustainably as possible in the future,” says Christian Schiller, 1st Mayor of the municipality of Herrsching. “The implementation of a climate-neutral heat supply is a complex task that can only succeed with a strong partnership. We are therefore very pleased about the mutual trust and look forward to working together,” explains Alexander Steber, Project Manager at MaxSolar GmbH.

MaxSolar GmbH was commissioned to draw up the heat planning as part of a public tender. The next steps are now being worked out together with the municipality of Herrsching. This includes taking stock, forecasting demand and developing scenarios for using renewable energies and improving energy efficiency. For the heat planning, the municipality of Herrsching is receiving funding from the National Climate Protection Initiative, which is supporting the project.

“MaxSolar is the ideal partner for municipalities that want to ensure a climate-friendly heat supply in the long term. The municipality of Herrsching recognized the importance of forward-looking planning at an early stage and has proactively pushed ahead with heat planning,” says Steber. With this decisive decision, Herrsching is not only showing great commitment to the climate targets, but also how municipalities can set the course for a future-proof, sustainable energy supply with the support of MaxSolar.
