Traunstein, 18.12.2024
MaxSolar GmbH from Traunstein (Germany) has moved additional photovoltaic power plants into the construction phase and integrated them into its own power plant portfolio. The projects are being implemented without the support of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) and are fully financed through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), demonstrating that sustainable renewable energy generation is highly attractive in the market.
The two large power plants have a combined output of around 160 megawatts and will save over 100,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year once they are completed. Over a period of 10 years, a total of around 1.6 terawatt hours (TWh) of green electricity will be made available to German industry. In the medium term, energy production will be further supplemented with large-scale storage systems in the multi-megawatt range. As a specialist, MaxSolar is also responsible for the construction, operation, and refinancing of these investments.
“We are pleased to provide the energy-intensive German industry with a cost-effective, predictable, and renewable energy supply through these long-term PPAs,” said Christoph Strasser, CEO of MaxSolar GmbH. “The signing of direct electricity purchase agreements is a key element of our strategy as an Independent Power Producer. These new projects further demonstrate the capabilities of our company in the market,” added Anwar Darwich, Commercial Director of MaxSolar GmbH.
