New charging stations in the district of Altötting promote electromobility

Press release

Altötting, 2. April 2024

The district of Altötting has expanded its charging infrastructure and installed several charging points in various municipalities in order to further promote electromobility.

A Hypercharger with a charging capacity of 50 kilowatts has now been installed at the town hall in Winhöring. Two further AC charging points have been installed at the fire station in Winhöring. In Perach - opposite the town hall at the Obernwirt - charging is now possible at a Kostad charging station and Marktl is delighted to have two new AC charging stations at two locations near the administrative community. In addition, two Hyperchargers have been put into operation at the car park of the district administration office in Altötting. Further charging stations will follow in Neuötting and elsewhere.

Christoph Strasser, Managing Director of MaxSolar, an experienced service provider and charge operator for the professional operation of charging infrastructure, emphasises: ‘As a company with regional ties, we are delighted to be part of these projects and to make our contribution to the expansion of electromobility in the district of Altötting and in south-eastern Upper Bavaria.’ He adds: ‘Not only are we creating new charging options for citizens, but potential or existing electric vehicles in the respective municipalities can now also refuel conveniently and nearby.’

The operator of the charging points is the Neuöttinger Bürgerenergiegenossenschaft EGIS eG. Pascal Lang, CEO of EGIS eG, explains: ‘With the inauguration of our new charging points in the district of Altötting, we as an energy cooperative are setting an example for sustainable electromobility. This initiative underlines our commitment to a seamless, reliable infrastructure for our region. We are proud to be able to help shape this change and prove once again how we can create added value for society as a community.’ Erwin Schneider, District Administrator of the Altötting district, is delighted with the progress: ‘The installation of these charging stations is another important step for our district on the way to a sustainable future. I am also particularly pleased that we have two strong partners from the region, EGIS and MaxSolar, who have realised this project for our district.’
