MaxSolar puts another fast-charging station into operation in Bundorf

Press release

Bundorf/District of Haßberge, 29.01.2025

In the municipality of Bundorf in the Haßberge district, a new fast charging station was put into operation on Wednesday, 29 January 2025 by the company MaxSolar from Traunstein, which significantly expands the existing charging infrastructure. The modern hypercharger is equipped with two DC charging points, one with a charging capacity of 50 kilowatts (kW) and two with 25 kW. This technology allows electric vehicles to be charged in the shortest possible time, which both improves the mobility of citizens and makes an important contribution to promoting electromobility in Lower Franconia.

The commissioning took place in front of the town hall at Theresienstraße 9. The charging station is not only a sign of the municipality's commitment to an environmentally friendly future, but also an important part of the holistic approach of the Bundorf energy village, which is committed to generating and utilising renewable energy. Mayor Hubert Endres explains: ‘The new high-performance charging station is an important step towards a climate-friendly transport infrastructure and another part of our joint innovation project. Bundorf is thus demonstrating that even small municipalities can play a pioneering role in the energy transition.’

The acceptance of common roaming RFID cards and EC cards with NFC chips from all German banks is particularly user-friendly. This enables drivers to pay easily.

About Bundorf and the innovation project

Around 30 per cent of the solar park is owned by the citizens' energy cooperative EnergieGenossenschaft Inn-Salzach eG (EGIS eG). The municipality of Bundorf is making a significant contribution to independence from fossil fuels and is setting new standards for sustainable energy concepts in rural areas. MaxSolar GmbH was honoured with the Top 100 Award in 2024 for the Bundorf sector coupling project. The project also received ‘The smarter E AWARD’ in the ‘Outstanding Projects’ category, which underlines the company's innovative strength and commitment to sustainable energy solutions. With its advanced e-infrastructure and citizen participation, Bundorf is setting a new standard for the energy transition and demonstrating how community projects can create sustainable solutions for the future.
