MaxSolar GmbH has moved into its new headquarters in the heart of Traunstein (Upper Bavaria) and symbolically inaugurated it on Wednesday evening together with invited guests. The modern office building, located directly at Traunstein railway station, is the new headquarters of the company, which has played a central role in the development of renewable energy concepts in the region and now throughout Germany for over 15 years. MaxSolar has three other branches throughout Germany. The company develops cross-sector energy concepts that link various areas of renewable energy. In addition to its headquarters in Traunstein, the company has branches in Munich, Hamburg and Berlin.
A future-oriented location
‘Our new company headquarters represents another important step for the future of MaxSolar. We are not only committed to innovative and sustainable architecture in the region, but also to energy concepts that meet the highest standards of efficiency and climate protection. We are investing in the region,’ explained Christoph Strasser, Managing Director of MaxSolar GmbH, during the opening ceremony. ‘The proximity to Traunstein railway station also offers excellent transport links for our employees, partners and customers.’
The planning and construction process for the new office building was carried out in close cooperation with various partners and experts. The Hartinger Group owns the building, while the architects and urban planners Romstätter created the design based on the client's specifications. Oberhaizinger IDP was commissioned for the interior design, coordinating with other specialist planners such as elo-plan and Sani-Plan for technical planning. A total of around eight million euros was invested in the construction of the building. In addition, MaxSolar GmbH is investing over three million euros in the expansion of its site.
Planning for the office building began in January 2023 with the first meeting between the builders and MaxSolar. This was followed in August 2023 by the first meeting with the interior designers, who were subsequently commissioned to design the interior. Construction actually began in May 2024.
Focus on sustainability and innovation
Particularly noteworthy are the photovoltaic systems on the roof (with approximately 30 kilowatt peak/kWp) and the façade (with approximately 20 kWp). A co-working area in the basement is intended to promote networking with the Chiemgau Campus in the future. In addition, the building offers a charging infrastructure with five publicly accessible DC charging stations (two charging points at 240 kW each, one charging point at 400 kW) and a total of 27 AC charging points. The DC charging points are fully accessible to the public, while the AC charging points are available to both the MaxSolar fleet and the general public.
‘By integrating PV systems, e-charging infrastructure and modern workspaces, we are creating a forward-looking building that combines ecological and practical added value,’ Strasser sums up.
