Pirach, municipality of Burgkirchen an der Alz, 04.12.2024
Yesterday, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the ground-breaking ceremony for the “Linner” solar park in Pirach took place in the presence of invited guests. With a total output of around 8.5 megawatts, the solar park will contribute to a sustainable and future-oriented energy supply in the Burgkirchen an der Alz region.
The Linner solar park will be built in a 500-metre corridor along a railway line and will receive funding as part of the tender process under the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). The total output of the park will be split between two operating companies, which will share the grid connection infrastructure in order to feed the electricity generated into the Pirach substation, around two kilometres away.
Part of the solar park with an output of around 4 megawatts is owned by MaxSolar GmbH, which developed the project. After commissioning, this part of the park is to be offered to a citizens' energy cooperative in the future. The second part of the solar park with an output of 4.4 megawatts belongs to the Höllthaler family. Both parts of the plant are designed in such a way that they can also integrate a battery storage system in the future in order to fulfil additional grid-supporting and electricity market-promoting functions.
Construction of the solar park is expected to be completed in April 2025. As the general contractor, MaxSolar GmbH is not only responsible for the project development, but will also take over the technical management of the plant in addition to its construction.
