Mainz, June 30, 2025
MaxSolar GmbH was honored with the TOP 100 seal for the fourth time last Friday at the German SME Summit in Mainz. The company from Traunstein is one of the leading innovators in the German middle market and received the award for its achievements in the fields of renewable energy, technology, and sustainability. At the festive award ceremony held at the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz, science journalist and TOP 100 mentor Ranga Yogeshwar congratulated MaxSolar GmbH. He praised the company for its innovative approaches in the field of the energy transition.
"This award is proof of the tireless commitment of our teams and the innovative strength that has characterized MaxSolar for 16 years," said Guido Reinecke, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MaxSolar GmbH, after accepting the award.
Pioneers of the energy transition
Founded in Traunstein in 2009, MaxSolar GmbH develops comprehensive energy concepts that integrate multiple sectors. The company covers the entire value chain in each sector, from development and planning to installation and operation of the systems. By intelligently combining photovoltaic, wind power, storage systems, electromobility, and heat supply, MaxSolar creates tailor-made, innovative solutions. Additionally, MaxSolar offers its customers Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that ensure long-term, reliable, and sustainable electricity supply. With a project pipeline of 7.6 gigawatts and four locations, the company operates nationwide with around 370 employees.
The subsidiary Energy Partners, founded in 2024, provides customized energy solutions for industrial, commercial, and logistics customers in the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector. The focus is on efficient, sustainable, and reliable energy supply as well as intelligent electric charging solutions. The service portfolio includes decentralized supply concepts such as photovoltaics and storage solutions, smart load and energy management, demand-oriented charging infrastructure, PPA models, and digital control systems via its own energy management system "EPSherpa." With this holistic approach, Energy Partners helps companies reduce energy costs, cut CO₂ emissions, and secure future-proof energy supply.
A strong foundation for the future
In addition to technological innovations, the MaxSolar Group places a strong emphasis on a corporate culture that fosters innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. Through continuous training and promoting interdisciplinary exchange, the company is growing not only in terms of revenue and projects but also as an attractive employer brand.
"A work environment that gives space to creative ideas is the key to our success," Reinecke said. “As a TOP Innovator, we not only want to drive the energy transition but also continue to be a company that makes a difference through its innovative strength and responsible use of resources.”
TOP 100: The Innovation Competition
Since 1993, the TOP 100 innovation competition has recognized companies that have distinguished themselves through exceptional innovative strength and outstanding innovation achievements in the SME sector. Supported by renowned partners such as the Fraunhofer Society and the SME association BVMW, and under the scientific direction of Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the competition is considered one of the most important awards for innovation in the German middle market.
