Traunstein, 28.10.2026
Infrastructure developer MaxSolar GmbH announces a long-term Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SAP SE for the supply of renewable electricity. The agreement covers electricity from two MaxSolar ground-mounted solar parks in Memmendorf, Saxony (25 MWp), and Pahlen, Schleswig-Holstein (around 11.5 MWp), with a combined installed capacity of 36.5 MWp.
With the Pahlen solar park now in operation, both projects covered by the ten-year agreement are supplying renewable electricity under the PPA. Memmendorf has been delivering electricity since April 2026, while Pahlen entered operation in August 2026.
The agreement provides for physical electricity deliveries under a Pay-as-Nominated structure, supported by guarantees of origin for the electricity supplied. The start of delivery from both solar parks marks an important milestone in the collaboration between MaxSolar and SAP.
Renewable electricity as a foundation for the digital economy
Artificial intelligence, cloud services and the expansion of data centres are reshaping the electricity needs of Europe’s digital economy. For technology and software companies, reliable access to competitively priced renewable electricity is becoming an increasingly important factor in long-term energy procurement and infrastructure planning.
Corporate PPAs bring together both sides of this equation: they provide companies with long-term access to renewable electricity while creating a reliable revenue framework for renewable generation projects.
“Reliable access to affordable and green electricity is becoming a decisive infrastructure factor for Europe’s digital economy, especially for technology-driven companies. With electricity now flowing from both solar parks, our agreement with SAP shows how long-term partnerships can connect renewable generation capacity with lasting corporate demand,” said Christoph Strasser, CEO of MaxSolar GmbH.
Developing the energy infrastructure behind tomorrow’s data centres
Beyond renewable generation, MaxSolar is pursuing a strategy to develop and provide integrated energy infrastructure for data centres and other energy-intensive technology locations. Depending on site-specific requirements, these concepts can combine renewable generation, grid connection infrastructure, battery storage and structured long-term electricity procurement.
As access to grid capacity and dependable electricity supply increasingly shapes the feasibility of new digital infrastructure projects, MaxSolar aims to connect generation, flexibility, grid infrastructure and energy procurement within coordinated development concepts. This approach builds on the company’s broader activities across renewable energy, storage, heat and mobility infrastructure.
“The start of physical electricity delivery from both projects is an important milestone because it demonstrates what a Corporate PPA ultimately needs to achieve: connecting renewable generation with real corporate demand. It also reflects the growing demand within the technology sector for sustainable and economically attractive energy solutions,” said Anwar Darwich, Commercial Director at MaxSolar.
With the Corporate PPA with SAP, MaxSolar further strengthens its activities in long-term renewable electricity supply for corporate customers. The agreement shows how renewable generation and structured corporate energy procurement can work together to support reliable energy supply and long-term competitiveness.
