The project developer maxsolar focusses on holistic energy concepts. The company managed to save 50 per cent of operating costs and 40 per cent of electricity costs in an apartment building in Traunstein, Bavaria. The greatest challenges lay in the design and connection of the PV system.
In the ‘W11 Stadtterrassen Traunstein’ project, the Traunstein-based property developer GreenRock Management built 30 residential units spread over four residential buildings and an underground car park with 57 parking spaces. The focus of this property is on one- and two-bedroom flats with large terraces and balconies, as well as spacious penthouse flats and four commercial units.
The building is a KfW40+ efficiency house, which means that its annual primary energy requirement is 60 per cent lower than the minimum standard.
In order to receive funding from the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, the building must also generate electricity from renewable energy sources and have a stationary battery storage system, a ventilation system with heat recovery and visualisation of electricity generation and consumption.
