Today is Biodiversity Day!
May 22, 2024 is the International Day for Biological Diversity. This day is intended to draw attention to the loss of biodiversity on our planet and the importance of preserving biodiversity.
Our aim at MaxSolar is to combine biodiversity and the generation of renewable energy on one site. In our projects, we optimize the framework conditions so that photovoltaic systems blend harmoniously into the landscape, biodiversity increases significantly and local acceptance is high. The solar park in Bundorf supports biodiversity by providing a habitat for the endangered skylark. Last year, a study was carried out on the endangered songbird and the results are impressive:
- Skylarks settle in ground-mounted PV systems immediately after construction
- The number of skylark breeding pairs has more than doubled since the beginning
- The density of territories is generally even increasing
The Bundesverband Neue Energiewirtschaft e.V. (bne) is organizing a four-part webinar series on the topic of "Solar parks and biodiversity" in cooperation with the knowledge portal SonneSammeln.
As part of this webinar series, Christian Preuß and Johannes Fuchs from MaxSolar will report specifically on the topic of "Solar parks as a potential habitat for skylarks" and provide information on the skylark monitoring of the citizen solar park in Bundorf, among other things.
