Review of the LEE Industry Day in Munich – United for the Energy Transition in Bavaria

This year’s LEE Industry Day in Munich brought together key stakeholders of the energy transition – all with a shared goal: advancing the expansion of renewable energies in Bavaria.

The event was opened by Heinrich Gärtner, Chairman of the Board at LEE Bayern. This was followed by remarks from State Minister Hubert Aiwanger, who outlined the political framework and set the tone for a day full of valuable insights and discussions.

At the heart of the event was the question of how stronger collaboration between the various renewable energy sources – hydropower, solar, wind, and biogas – can be achieved to unlock synergies and ensure security of supply in an increasingly volatile electricity market with limited grid capacity.

Our colleagues Christian Preuß (Head of Project Development) and Fiona Bartels (Project Development PV) attended the event and took the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with stakeholders from politics, business, and project development.

A content highlight was the presentation by Christine Völzow, Managing Director and Head of the Department of Economic Policy at the Association of Bavarian Industry (vbw). In her talk titled "Energy as a Location Factor", she emphasized the growing importance of a stable, sustainable energy supply for the competitiveness of Bavaria as a business location.

The event concluded with a panel discussion that picked up on these key topics. Representatives from politics and the industry discussed how federal and state governments can work together more effectively to seize the energy transition as an economic opportunity for Bavaria.
