On Monday, 12 May 2025, the EGIS-ENERGIEFORUM 2025 took place in the Neuötting town hall. We were not only represented as a sponsor, but also gave a presentation on the topic of biodiversity in solar parks.
After a welcoming address by Pascal Lang, Chairman of the EGIS eG Board of Directors, the programme began with the first session ‘Energy future in the hands of citizens - How EGIS eG is rethinking energy supply together with its partners’. This session was organised by EGIS eG in cooperation with ABEL ReTec, Bürgerwerke eG and us as MaxSolar GmbH. Christian Preuß introduced MaxSolar and spoke about our project in Bundorf. Christian also summarised the results of the latest study by the German Association of the New Energy Economy (bne), which deals with the promotion of biodiversity in solar parks. A concrete example of the positive effects of solar parks on local biodiversity was the skylark monitoring in Bundorf, which once again delivered very positive results.
This was followed by the keynote speech by Prof Dr Michael Sterner. As an advisor to the German government and recognised expert in energy storage systems and hydrogen technology, he explained why batteries, hydrogen and modern grids are the central pillars of a stable and sustainable energy supply for the future. He also spoke about the urgent measures needed to drive forward the energy transition and prevent it from failing.
Conclusion
The EGIS-ENERGIEFORUM 2025 was a complete success and emphasised how crucial it is to jointly promote the topic of renewable energies at all levels - from research to business to citizens. With innovative approaches, such as those demonstrated by our partnership with EGIS eG and the Bundorf project, we can make a significant contribution to stabilising and further developing a sustainable energy supply.
