New community energy project | Start of construction of the Bernlohe solar park (Ostalbkreis, Baden-Württemberg)

The symbolic starting signal for the Bernlohe solar park has been given! After planning permission was granted, we began installing almost 18,000 solar modules for the OstalbBürgerEnergie eG (OBE) energy cooperative. The photovoltaic system will produce around 11 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year - enough to supply around 3,500 households with green energy.

At the official event to mark the start of construction, Hans-Peter Weber, CEO of OBE, welcomed many representatives from local politics, including Lord Mayor Frederick Brütting, who praised the project from the perspective of the energy transition and regional climate protection. Local councillor Patrizius Gentner also emphasised the consistent support of the Waldhausen local council, which has supported the project positively from the outset.

OstalbBürgerEnergie eG enables citizens to participate directly in the PV project through membership and member loans and thus actively contribute to the energy transition.

Technical details:
The PV system will be equipped with a total of 28 inverters, three transformer stations and a transfer station to efficiently feed the electricity generated into the Stadtwerke Aalen grid. Completion is scheduled for June.
