At this year’s Industry Day organised by the Bavarian Renewable Energy Association (LEE Bayern) in Augsburg, representatives from politics, business and the energy sector came together to discuss the current challenges and prospects facing the energy industry. The focus was on the political and regulatory framework, which has a significant influence on the further expansion of renewable energy in Germany.
The political panel discussion highlighted how important reliable regulatory frameworks and long-term planning certainty are for the sector. Topics discussed included the approval of the EEG 2027 under state aid law and the implementation of the announced grid package. A key conclusion from the event was that reliable and predictable political conditions are crucial for securing long-term investment and consistently driving forward the expansion of renewable energy.
In his speech, Bavaria’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Hubert Aiwanger, also emphasised the importance of an expansion that is open to all technologies. Alongside the positive development of photovoltaics, he emphasised the role of wind energy, bioenergy, storage solutions and an efficient grid infrastructure in ensuring a secure, economical and resilient energy supply.

The event provided an opportunity to put current political developments into context, exchange views with representatives from politics and the industry, and gain fresh insights for the further development of an integrated energy infrastructure.
The LEE Industry Day once again demonstrated how important ongoing dialogue between politics, business and the energy sector is. Only by working together can we create the conditions needed to drive forward the expansion of renewable energies in a planned manner and ensure that our energy supply remains secure, economical and sustainable in the long term.
