At this year’s summer party organised by the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE), representatives from politics, the energy sector, trade associations and companies came together to discuss the current challenges and opportunities presented by the energy transition. MaxSolar was also in attendance and used the event to exchange views on key developments in energy policy and to strengthen existing contacts.
The discussions made it clear that renewable energies are now far more than just a tool for climate protection. They are a key competitive factor for Germany as a business location, strengthen security of supply and make an important contribution to an independent and resilient energy supply.
A key theme of the evening was the need for a reliable political framework. To achieve the target of 80 per cent renewable energy by 2030, long-term planning certainty and investment-friendly regulation are required. At the same time, the importance of accelerating the expansion of distribution networks and further flexible infrastructure was emphasised. Only when generation, storage, networks and consumption interact intelligently can the energy system of the future function efficiently and reliably.
Furthermore, it became clear during numerous discussions that pragmatic solutions and a regulatory framework that allows for flexibility rather than stifling potential are crucial for the further expansion of renewable energy. Ongoing dialogue between the political sphere, industry and practitioners remains an important prerequisite for jointly driving forward the energy and infrastructure transition.
For MaxSolar, the BEE Summer Festival provided a valuable platform for putting current developments into context, gaining fresh insights and continuing the dialogue with policy-makers and partners from the energy sector.
