The MaxSolar project team and representatives of the Oberland Energy Cooperative yesterday gave the go-ahead for a major Agri-PV project in Schongau, Bavaria. This milestone marks the beginning of an ambitious project that reconciles renewable energy production with the protection of biodiversity and support for agriculture.
The first of a total of five planned plants in Schongau will offer an impressive 8 MWp of Agri PV (photovoltaics combined with livestock grazing) power. Yesterday's ground-breaking ceremony was a symbolic act, marking the start of a total volume of 28 MWp Agri PV.
"Our vision is not only to contribute to energy independence, but also to innovate ways to protect biodiversity and support agriculture," the team emphasises. This ambitious project envisages designing PV parks on agricultural land in a way that both promotes biodiversity and enables farming. It is a concept that creates a win-win situation for all parties involved and at the same time contributes to accelerating the energy transition.
Yesterday's groundbreaking ceremony was a significant step towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
