The Future Energy Summit 2024, which took place on June 18, 2024, was an outstanding event that brought together experts, industry leaders and innovators from across the energy industry. Organized by MaxSolar and Energy Partners, the summit was all about decentralized energy supply in the commercial and industrial sectors.
Opening and keynotes
The day began with an inspiring opening speech by Christoph Strasser, CEO of MaxSolar, who highlighted the importance of decentralized energy solutions in a changing energy landscape. His speech set the tone for the rest of the day and emphasized the urgency and opportunities that lie in this area for the success of the energy transition.
Katharina David, board member of the German Solar Industry Association and CEO of K2 Systems, then gave an impressive keynote speech. She gave insights into the current challenges and opportunities of the energy market and emphasized the need for innovation and collaboration to drive sustainable energy solutions.
Lectures and panel discussions
The afternoon was filled with exciting specialist presentations and panel discussions. Experts and key players from the energy sector shared their experience and knowledge on various topics:
- Decentralized energy solutions of tomorrow: in the opening panel, the panellists shed light on the current opportunities and challenges surrounding decentralized energy solutions. They commented on the current legal framework and political necessities.
- Financing models for decentralized energy solutions: This discussion highlighted the different approaches and strategies for financing energy projects, with valuable insights into best practices and common challenges.
- Market trends - Holistic energy concepts and sector coupling: Julia Pohl, from EUPD Research gave an insight into the current country situations, taking a deep dive into the top 5 European countries.
- Interactive hot seat on the current market situation: In this slot, our four participants were challenged to answer questions about the current country situations, challenges in the markets or their assessment of certain topics in a given time. The questions also came interactively from the audience via Slido.
- Practical applications and best practices: Here, concrete projects and their implementation were presented, with speakers sharing their successes as well as their "best failures" to pass on valuable lessons.
Networking and exchange
A special highlight of the summit was the networking evening. Attendees had the opportunity to make valuable contacts and exchange ideas in informal conversations. These interactions not only fostered understanding and collaboration within the industry, but also opened doors for future cooperation and innovation.
