Last Monday, the dena Energy Transition Congress focussed on the Women's Lunch - an exclusive networking format for women in the energy sector. Almost 100 female experts from various fields took the opportunity to exchange ideas, network and gain valuable inspiration for their professional development.
Our colleague Yvonne Strzys, Head of Project Development at MaxSolar, was invited as a dialogue partner and gave exciting insights into her professional career. In conversation with Hanne May, Head of Communications at dena, Yvonne shared her personal experiences and explained how she achieved her position - thanks in part to the support of the w.one network, which promotes women in the industry and supports them with mentoring and professional impetus.
‘Unfortunately, conditions in the energy sector haven't changed much for women. As a female engineer, I still have to prove myself and often find myself in purely male-dominated groups. I see the greatest need for action in the companies themselves. We need more female managers who are also represented in management - that way we automatically attract more female specialists. On a positive note, we are now seeing more women in the industry and events such as the Women's Lunch are becoming increasingly important,’ says Yvonne Strzys.
