Energy Initiative Rhön and Grabfeld e.V. visits the Bundorf solar park

On June 28, 2024, the Energie-Initiative Rhön und Grabfeld e.V. visited the solar park in Bundorf to get an idea of the impressive project.  At the request of the 1st Chairman of the Rhön and Grabfeld Energy Initiative, Mr. Christof Helfrich, and the energy consultant from the Oberschleichach Environmental Education Centre (UBIZ), Mr. Günter Leiberth, a tour of the innovative project in Bundorf took place.

The 20 members of the energy initiative were warmly welcomed by our colleagues Alexander Steber and Maximilian Huber, who first gave them an overview of how the solar park came about. Since its commissioning in 2023, the Bundorf solar park has made a significant contribution to the energy supply.

During the tour of the park, the visitors were able to get to know the various areas of the plant, including an impressive view of the plant from the recently constructed viewing platform. They also visited the district heating plant on site.

The participants were particularly impressed by the efficiency of the plant and its integration into the surrounding landscape. The implementation of the biodiversity measures and the impressive results of the skylark monitoring carried out were also presented. In conversation with MaxSolar colleagues, the members of the energy initiative also learned details about the challenges and successes in the planning and construction of the solar park. Questions about maintenance, feeding into the grid and the future of solar energy were also discussed in detail.

The visit to the Bundorf solar park was not only informative but also inspiring for the Rhön and Grabfeld Energy Initiative. It highlighted the importance of renewable energies for regional development and strengthened the Energy Initiative's commitment to its projects.

The conclusion of the visit to the Bundorf solar park is therefore extremely positive: a successful example of the successful implementation of solar energy projects and an important step towards a sustainable energy future for the region.
